April Sunshine is an emerging Dine and Totonac thread artist. 
 
Formerly the COO of Thunder Voice Arts, and one of our first hat models. She now shares her love and admiration for MOther Nature's beauty, through embroidered flowers, mountains, and insects.
 
For each hat design, she draws on the summers of her youth spent leading wilderness survival groups through the Tonto National Forest, among other places. 
 
The connection between earth, sky, plants, animals, and the two=legged beings is something she tries to portray with each unique embroidery piece. 
 
She thrives to depict that crucial generational connection between grandparents and children, parent to child, and even individual to individual.  
 
As each developed flower sends messages of sacredness to seedlings, or to other flowers, the symbolism is clear - we are all connected.
